Nature helps us feel good and do good
Nothing is new here, nature tends to lift our spirits, making us feel happier and more positive. And when we're feeling good, it naturally spills over into how we interact with others, making us kinder and more compassionate. When Nature is around, there is a boost in happiness, positive emotion, and kindness. It’s good for our social and personal well-being.
The benefits of being in nature don't stop there. Nature helps our physical & mental health. A study shows that people who lived near larger areas of green space reported less stress and showed greater declines in cortisol levels over the course of the day.
Exposure to nature impacts the brain. Viewing natural beauty (in the form of landscape paintings and video, at least) activates specific reward circuits in the brain associated with dopamine release that give us a sense of purpose, joy, and energy to pursue our goals.
Different ways to connect our bodies to the planet
The more we are connected the better we will feel.
• Ground yourself. It can involve walking barefoot, lying on the ground, swimming. We cannot always have access to nature. So going to a small park, lying against a tree and consciously thinking when walking helps. The simple thought of being in nature can help…
• Listen to the birds! Is a great way to find relaxation. A bird sings when he feels safe. So for us a bird song means safety, comfort. Studies have proved that Birds can make you feel better for up to 8 hours. So if you are up early because the birds, its a blessing, just enjoy, listen and gather all the goods that come from it.
• Try forest bathing - This Japanese practice known as Shinrin Yoku is a process of relaxation; The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees, observing nature around you whilst breathing deeply can help both adults and children de-stress and boost health and wellbeing in a natural way. A Luxury escape which we cannot always do….But if we are lucky enough to live close to a park or water, drop the phone and consciously take nature. Even for a few minute it will help.
• Enjoy the water. Water is universal. It is the miracle upon which all life relies and a portal for connecting us with the external, as well as for deepening a connection within. Have you ever paid attention to how your body feels when you’re hydrated versus dehydrated? Ever paused to consider whether that restless sleep was the result of a lack of water? Or whether that elated mood was caused by drinking enough water? When we take the time to notice what’s happening below our surface, we connect with a deeper sense of ourselves. To strengthen this connection, consider taking some time to truly appreciate what it means to be ‘filled’ with 60-70% water.
Earth to skin
The first thing a women tend to do when she wakes up is to look at herself in the mirror. Her skin will tell her everything. How she has slept, what’s she has eaten, how she feels… When we put cosmetics on our face, we feed our skin and we should take the same care than when we feed our body with the water we drink, the food we eat.
It is therefore essential to understand what we put on our face. The mandatory INCI list of ingredients on the label of a cosmetic product will help you research what you are putting on your face.
When purchasing skincare products it is useful to have a basic knowledge of the ingredients so you can make sure you're buying products that will work for you and your skin type, as well as ensuring you know what you are choosing to put on your skin. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind…
• The quality of the ingredient is EVERYTHING
Like in cooking, let’s prioritize fresh, organically grown ingredients and natural preservatives. And of course products that exclude parabens, palm oil, synthetic fragrances, and chemical preservatives. How the plant is cultivated and the product manufactured also plays an important part. The plant should grow under optimal conditions, and when possible be hand-harvested. The extraction techniques (first cold press for oils and steam distillation for essential oils) and the manufacturing process is also key to respect the quality of an ingredient. Not everything can be handmade of course but yet craftsmanship is the best way to respect the quality of an ingredient.
• Using Active ingredients
Vitamine A, C, Vitamine E, probiotics, CoenzymeQ10, Hyaluronic acid, probiotics… all these play a pivotal role in crafting an effective formula, as they directly interact with the skin. For example, we use Vitamine E in our Detox body oil, our Protect face serum. The main ingredient of Relaxayvoo night face oil is Prickly pear seed oil full of Vitamin E and K, Phytosterols, Zinc withAnti-inflammatory. Rosehip oil is also present in our oil for young skin (Balance face oil) as it helps repair the skin. Also used in high proportion in our Night face oil…
•From plant to body
Relaxayvoo’s formulations are based on Aromatherapy’s principles and the benefit of Aromatherapy goes back to thousand years. In Egypte aromatic oils were used for religious ceremonies embalming practices. In china they used herbs for massage and general well being. In India Ayurveda was used. And the term aromatherapy came from a French chemist in the 1900 who accidentally burnt his hand and used lavender oil to cure the pain!
Essential oils are sun kissed ingredients. Highly concentrated liquids made from leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other plant elements. A drop is the quintessence of life. Living molecule that works in synergy. It contains the essence or "essential" properties of the plant from which they are derived. In our formulations, we only use the highest quality organic ingredients with only natural fragrances, colours and preservatives to be the closest to nature and its pure remedies.
It is our way to look after our nature and your nature.
